Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will be the last RPG Pokemon game on the Nintendo 3DS.

In a surprise move Game Freak has just announced that their upcoming game Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will be the last game on the Nintendo 3DS system. I am sure that this will come as a bog shock to a lot of fans out there. As long as Pokemon has been around it has always been a handheld game series. However, at E3 this year, The Pokemon Company revealed to fans that the Pokemon RPG series that we know and love will be moving to the Nintendo Switch.

While speaking to IGN, Game Freak director Shigeru Ohmori stated,

""With Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon we’ve tried to eke that out more and really, really push the system to its absolute limits, and we’re now feeling that perhaps this is the maximum of what we can get out. So we’re really treating Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon as the culmination of our work with the 3DS system.""
Are you ready for Pokemon to leave the traditional handheld system and head over to Nintendo's new hybrid console? With more power and wider options, what kinds of game mechanics are you hoping to see on the future Pokemon RPG on the Nintendo Switch?

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will be released for the Nintendo 3DS on November 17, 2017.
